I am an analytical thinker and enjoy exploring new ideas to express my creativity. I adopt a practical, determined approach in order to solve problems. During my degree I have had the opportunity to explore and develop my skills in a wide variety of areas including hand & digital printing and design, laser cutting and stitch. With these skills I have been able to answer all my briefs effectively and having the freedom to experiment has increased my understanding of design and creative expression.
Highly organised and self motivated
In both my studies and employment I have proven to be reliable and trustworthy. I understand the importance of time management and self discipline to ensure deadlines are met. Motivating myself has meant I have gained new experiences and learnt extra skills to further my career.
I have developed confident presentation skills through the discipline of presenting my work to the university tutors and my contemporaries and through group presentations as part of a team. If asked, people would say I am polite and adaptable with good communication skills. I enjoy using my initiative and work effectively in a team.
Excellent commercial awareness and understanding of colour trends and forecasting with a particular interest in sustainability and its application to the textile design industry. I attend commercial events such as Premier Vision Paris, New Designers London, Chelsea Design Centre London, Vogue Festival London, Interiors UK Birmingham and other trade and design shows in order to keep up to date with all the industry innovations.
